This picture is of the Class of 1936 when they were in the fifth grade. The year is 1929. The teacher is Dorothy
Carlson. Dorothy was a member of the Idaho Springs High School class of 1923 so this group was one of her
earliest assignments in a teaching career that extended for many years. The setting is interesting. The picture is
shot looking east with the old fire house and library in the background. The bandstand in the background is
where the present Carlson Elementary School now sits.
